Here’s what’s coming up locally, a mix of arts, food, music and bonfire night magic.

🧀 Cheese Tasting Masterclass

A delightful masterclass for cheese lovers: learn from an expert cheesemonger or sommelier about different styles, pairings, and tasting techniques, all in the elegant setting of Lucknam Park.
🍺 Bath Oktoberfest
24th – 26th October, Royal Victoria Park, Bath
A German beer festival right here in Bath, with steins, bratwurst, live music, dancing and Bavarian fun.
🎨 Introduction to Painting with Laura Richards
Wednesday 8th October @ Bowood House and Gardens
Fancy getting creative? This beginner-friendly session with Laura Richards provides all materials, guidance and space to explore watercolours, acrylics or mixed media. A relaxed and sociable way to explore your artistic side.

Thursday 16th October @ The Pig near Bath
We'd love you to come and celebrate with a delicious two course meal at the wonderful Pig. A warm, relaxing evening of chatting with like minded women at a stunning venue.
🎤 Wet Wet Wet — Live Concert
Monday 20th October @ The Forum, Bath
Scottish pop rock legends Wet Wet Wet bring their hits; think “Love Is All Around” in an intimate theatre setting. A chance to relive classic tracks and hear new material.
🍏 Apple Day Weekend @ The Newt
18th – 19th October
Celebrate autumn harvest with apple-themed events: pressing, tastings, orchard walks, juice-making and family-friendly activities. A lovely seasonal experience in the gardens and estate of The Newt.
📚 Author Event: Elizabeth Day — One of Us
Thursday 2nd October
An evening with bestselling author Elizabeth Day, in conversation about her latest book One of Us. This promises insights, memorable readings, and audience Q&A.
🍽 Thomasina Miers’ Mexican Table
Thursday 9th October
An evening with celebrated chef Thomasina Miers, exploring Mexican flavours, recipes, stories, and perhaps a tasting menu.

🍷 Supper Club at Park Farm — The Chef’s Table
30th October
A curated multi-course dinner experience, crafted by local chefs using seasonal produce. This is more than a meal,it’s storytelling, and culinary discovery.
🌙 Up All Night
Thursday 6th November @ Bread & Jam.
A night of music and dancing for women only, 90s/00s/ RNB. It starts early, and ends early (our vibe to a tee!).

👥 International Men’s Day with Lewis Moody
Wednesday 19th November @ Emberwood, Bath
An event organised by the Bath Rugby Foundation, featuring Lewis Moody (former England rugby captain) in conversation, sharing leadership lessons, wellbeing insights, and reflections. A thoughtful evening for all genders.
Bonfire Night & Fireworks (local round up)
As the nights draw in, Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes Night) is always a highlight.
Here are a few local displays to pencil into your diary:
Christian Malford: Bonfire & Fireworks Spectacular Saturday 1st November 2025
Gates open 5:30pm, Guy competition 6pm, lighting at 6:30pm. Free sparklers for children, food stalls, hog roast, children’s entertainments.
Bath — Fireworks on The Rec (Recreation Ground)
Gates open 4:30pm, with a professional display (musical soundtrack) and all proceeds going to charity. Early ticket purchase required.

Bath City Farm — Bonfire Night at the Farm Saturday 8th November 2025
A more local, community-style evening: lantern parade, bonfire lighting, fire performance, food & drink. Note: no fireworks.

Early Christmas Notes: Lights, Wreaths & Festive Events
We’re already seeing Christmas lights and festive workshops pop up:

Workshops & Wreath Making:
Many local florists, garden centres and event venues are already listing festive wreath-making classes, garland workshops and light switch-on ceremonies.(We’ll do a full Christmas Special post later, but if you’re eager, many venues open booking now.)
📅 Summary & Booking Tips
Book early, especially for food, theatre, or fireworks events as they often sell out.
Check venues’ official websites or social media nearer the date for any last-minute changes (weather, tickets).
For the bonfire nights, arrive early (to find parking, choose a good viewing spot) and wrap up warm!
