Why Female Friendship still matters, and what to do if you haven’t found your people yet.

In honour of World Friendship Day.

There’s something quietly powerful about a group of women coming together; not to network, not to compare schedules or tick off life goals but simply to be.

We know the statistics and we've read the studies: female friendships can boost your health, reduce stress and even help you live longer. But stats don’t always speak to the emotional truth, which is this: a good chat with the right person can be life-changing. It doesn’t need to be a deep or dramatic conversation. Often, it’s just someone asking, “Shall we sit together?” Or “Have you been here before?” that becomes the start of something meaningful.

Yet for all the love letters to sisterhood, here’s what we don’t say enough:

It’s still surprisingly hard to find your people.

We’ve heard it from women across all walks of life; new mums, mid-career professionals, retirees, students, newly moved, newly single, burnt out, curious, shy, bold, all of it. The common thread? They were all still looking. Not for a networking event. Not for a wine night (though we absolutely love those too).

But for a space where they could just turn up, be themselves, and feel welcomed.

And that’s where She Shares steps in.

We built She Shares because we’d been there ourselves, feeling like everyone else had their group chat figured out. But friendship isn’t always born in school corridors or old workplaces.

Sometimes, it starts later, and sometimes you have to create the space for it to begin.

At our events, there’s no sales pitch. No pressure to be anything other than yourself. Whether you’re in your twenties or your sixties, arriving solo or with a friend, you’re met with warmth, a drink in hand, and a seat at the table. It sounds simple. It is simple. And that’s what makes it work.

People leave their status at the door and that is the real magic. Because when you stop leading with your LinkedIn headline and start talking like a real person, you start connecting like one too.

So, if you’re still looking for your group, know this:

You’re not the only one.

You’re not late.

You’re exactly where you need to be.

And we’d love to meet you.

Happy World Friendship Day x
