New or Noteworthy: Gather, Batheaston

There are cafés you pop into, and then there are places you linger, not wanting to leave. Tucked in the heart of Batheaston, Gather is the kind of spot that instantly slows you down.

All natural textures, soft lighting, plus that gentle hum of chatter that makes you want to stay for “just one more” coffee.

It’s relaxed without trying to be, and you’ll leave feeling better than when you arrived which feels very on brand for us.

Feeling Peckish?

The menu is a love letter to simple, seasonal food done well. Think fluffy sourdough stacked with creamy eggs, perfectly balanced brunch plates, and cakes that make saying “no” impossible. Their ingredients are locally sourced where possible, and the attention to detail is evident.

Top Tip - If you’re heading there soon, try the mulled apple & turmeric - so warming with just the right amount of spice. It’s autumn in a cup and guaranteed to make you linger longer.

Things to note

Gather is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9 am–3 pm, with breakfast served until 12 pm and lunch until around 2:30 pm.

Perfect times to plan for a lazy brunch or a relaxing lunch and let the world tick by. It’s a place to catch up with friends, bring your laptop for an hour of quiet work, or just enjoy a bit of calm with good food and better company.

Want to extend your experience with a bit of fresh air? Take a leisurely stroll along the River Avon, a beautiful walk that takes you towards Bathampton and the canal.

Driving? There are two car park options - one directly across the road where the riverside footpath starts, but please note, this can fill up at busy periods. The second is behind Gather, which again can fill up on occasion.
